all day long i've been getting phone calls from people throwing terms at me. first it was angela's father, then it was angela's father's lawyer, then it was the police, and the list goes on. they all used words and phrases like "involuntary manslaughter," "leaving the scene," "vehicular homicide." that list, too, seemed never to end.
after the first few calls, i stopped answering the phone. jess answered a few, but when she told them i wasn't there (even though i was sitting on the couch right next to her), they neglected to leave a message. she also got miserably discouraged and stopped answering.
for awhile, we just stayed in the livingroom watching tv, but eventually, jess decided she needed to get out of the house for a little while. now, i'm all alone with nothing to do but think about what's going to happen to my life. it's already gone to hell. how much worse can it get?
